I've done this for around 15 favourite movies in HD, each coming in at around GB. I bet there's an easier way but it works for me everytime. I don't get it, what's your source?
Why would you not have the file on your PC? You should never need to burn a disc, if you have the ability to stream Assuming you have a wireless network you can transfer files using 'PS3 Media Server'. Click to expand If you have a router you can use TVersity as a media server on your PS3 via a router either wireless or wired. I've copied Hd films over 15GB using this method. If all you want to do is copy, then you could just use the built-in well for all MS PC's Windows Media Player, no need to install anything else Uridium Member.
Axum said:. I did go for PS3 media server but found it clunky and it even crashed on a couple of occasions. This may be due to ignorance but I found TVersity simple and quick to use with minimal effort required. But there's no need to use either if you're just copying, you could have used WMP just as well No you can't play mkv's on your PS3. You need to either convert them then play, using mkv2vob, or convert "on the fly" by using something like PS3 Media Server.
Stay tuned, an updated Sticky is on the way Uridium said:. I'd have to pull you up there, quality will definitely be affected as you're transcoding, but depending on the codec you choose you probably won't notice, but then you never would be able to tell the difference as you can't play the original on the PS3 anyway so you have no like-for-like comparison!!
Last edited: Oct 6, Who told you my name? The video will then be streamed directly or muxed but not transcoded.
This setting will dramatically reduce the need of transcoding. Mostly the contained audio and video stream is PS3 compatible. So tsmuxer creates a PS3 compatible m2ts container which contains the original audio and video stream and the PS3 is able to playback. Don't have an account? Sign up for free! The problem is, a few of my latest ones from the Spartacus series are over 4gb in size. Is there any other way around this that people know of? Ikilluha1 9 years ago 2. Break it up into two parts. Ikilluha1 posted Yeah, I've read that's an option, but it's not the solution I was hoping for, since once it's on the PS3 you can't stitch them back together. From what I understand, the PS3 drive isn't fat32, meaning it can hold files larger than 4gigs.
It's only transferring them that's the issue. Does anyone know of any other solutions? I will try tonight. RyuuHou25 9 years ago 4. As you said, it only recognizes drives with FAT32, which means it is impossible. You should also note that copying some saved games will invalidate your ability to earn Trophies on that game. Just be careful about what kind of files you are copying.
The device you connect must be formatted to FAT There are various ways to do this but the simplest is to plug in your device and check what letter the drive is. Then select Run from the menu in Windows and type cmd to bring up the command window.
